Speech Therapy

Our speech therapists cover a wide range of treatments from increasing vocal loudness to swallowing disorders.

Appropriate conditions to refer to speech therapy:

  • Dysphagia
  • Receptive and Expressive Aphasia
  • Apraxia (oral and verbal)
  • Dysarthria
  • Cognitive Impairment
  • Voice Disorders
  • Laryngectomy
  • Pre-Radiation or Pre-surgery consults for head/neck cancer patients
  • Articulation Disorders
  • Developmental speech/language disorders or delays
  • Myofunctional Swallowing Disorders (tongue thrust)

Modified Barium Swallow Studies and Vital Stim Therapy (electrical stimulation for swallowing disorders provided by a certified therapist) are available for patients with dysphagia.

Medical Diagnoses may include, but not be limited to:

  • CVA/TIA
  • Head Injury
  • Head/Neck/Brain Cancer
  • Progressive Neurological Diseases (Parkinsons, ALS, MS, etc)
  • Vocal Nodules/Polyps
  • Vocal Misuse Oral or Pharyngeal Dysphagia Genetic Disorders Developmental Delay
