Billing and Filing Insurance Claims

Our Patient Account Representatives will file claims for you with health care insurers or other programs such as Medicare and TennCare. We also will help your doctor with necessary documentation. If you need help understanding your insurance coverage or health plan, see your insurance company or health benefits manager. Patients with non-emergency or elective admission, who do not have health insurance prior to admission, will be asked to make a deposit based on admitting diagnosis and services provided. If you don't have health coverage, Patient Account Representatives are available to assist you in seeking other financial sources. We will need your help with collecting necessary information and other requirements to obtain coverage or assistance.
After you are discharged from the hospital, you will receive a statement of your charges. You also will receive separate bills from your attending physician and possibly from other specialists for services including:
- Anesthesia
- Pathology
- Radiologists for interpreting X-rays
