Admissions and Registration

 

 

 

 

 

Our office hours are from 6:30am to 9:00pm. Please register between those hours or the time specified by your doctor.

To ensure accurate billing information, please bring your:

  • Current Insurance Identification Card
  • Valid Drivers License or other Photo I.D.
  • Social Security Card
  • Medicare Card if applicable
  • Completed claim form from your employer

You will be asked to sign medical authorizations, insurance and other consent forms. A parent or legal guardian must sign permission for minors.

 

 

 

 

 

Identification

 

 

 

 

 

During admission, an identification band will be placed around your wrist. Please wear it during your stay with us. If you lose it, please tell a nurse and you will receive a new one.

 

 

 

 

 

Personal Items

 

 

 

 

 

During your stay at Roane Medical Center as an inpatient, please remember to bring the following:

  • Nightgown or pajamas
  • Robe, slippers and warm socks
  • Toiletries
  • Reading materials
  • Leave valuables such as jewelry and money at home
  • A Complete list of current medications

 

 

 

 

 

Your Safety

 

 

 

 

 

Your safety is our concern. Please follow the directions of our healthcare professionals regarding your safety. While in your room, please:

  • Use the "Call Button" for assistance
  • Never attempt any action that may result in an accidental strain or fall
  • Use caution when getting out of bed
  • Do not go to the bathroom unassisted
  • Ask for assistance in lowering side rails on your bed
  • Report safety concerns to the nurse supervisor
  • Report quality of care comments, complaints, concerns to                                    Nurse supervisor , Administration, or External Agencies

No Smoking

 

 

 

 

 

Roane Medical Center is a Smoke-Free facility. Smoking is not permitted inside the facility by patients, physicians, employees or visitors. Selected smoking areas are provided outside the medical center.

 

 

 

 

 

Your Visitors

 

 

 

 

 

While visitor are welcome, we want you to get plenty of rest. Please encourage your visitors to be considerate by keeping their stay short and limited to visiting hours.

Visiting Hours:

General Floors – 9:00am to 9:00pm

ICU – One immediate family may stay with the patient around the clock. Children under 14 are not permitted in the ICU

ICU visiting hours are

                8:30am-9:00am

                10:30am-11:00am

                12:30pm-1:00pm

                2:30pm- 3:00pm

                5:30pm-6:00pm

                8:30pm-9:00pm

                10:30pm-11:00pm

Surgery Waiting Room – Designated waiting rooms are available for family members until you return from surgery and the recovery room

 

 

 

 

 

Chaplains

 

 

 

 

 

Chaplains of several denominations are on call 24-hours-a-day. Please inform your nurse if you wish to have a chaplain or your personal minister visit. Our chapel is open 24-hours-a-day, and is located around the corner from the Roane Street entrance lobby.

 

 

 

 

 

Your Financial Arrangement and Insurance

 

 

 

 

 

Chaplains of several denominations are on call 24-hours-a-day. Please inform your nurse if you wish to have a chaplain or your personal minister visit. Our chapel is open 24-hours-a-day, and is located around the corner from the Roane Street entrance lobby.

Patients with non-emergency or elective admission who do not have health insurance prior to admission will be asked to make a deposit based on admitting diagnosis and services to be provided. Patient account representatives are available to assist you in seeking other financial sources if you do not have insurance.

You will receive separate bills from your attending physician, radiologist, pathologist, surgeon or consulting physician.

6:30am - 9:00am
11:00am - 2:00pm
4:30pm - 6:45pm

Mail or Flowers

Mail or flowers addressed to you will be delivered to your room. Mail received after your discharge will be forwarded to your home address.

Overnight Guest

Special provisions can be made if it is necessary for a relative to remain overnight. Ask your nurse for assistance in this matter.

Telephone

All patient’s rooms are equipped with telephones. Your friends and family may call you by dialing 882-4 + your 3-digit room number.

You may place local calls by first dialing 9 + the number you wish to reach. For long distance calls, first dial 0 for the Roane Medical Center’s operator for assistance. Long distance calls will be billed to your home telephone number, or may be charged to a calling card or placed collect.

Television

Each patient’s room is equipped with cable television services. Please keep your individual speaker turned down as a courtesy to others.

 

 

 

 

 

When You Leave

 

 

 

 

 

Arrange to have a family member or friend drive you home. If you require additional care after leaving, social service/discharge planners will assist you by providing information about continuing care services.

Roane Medical Center sponsors a number of support groups in the areas of diabetes, cancer, fibromylagia and others. For more information call 865-882-1323.
